I currently wrote a script, and now I am about to send it out to agents. I have to write an outline and a treatment. To my knowledge an outline is a one-page description of what the story is about, and the treatment is a 2-12 page breakdown of the story.

1. What is the point of the outline when you are just going to explain the same things in the treatment?

2. Is the treatment more like a short story version?

Anyone with answers? I would greatly be appreciated.

The Writer's Digest is the bible of the writing industry. See if you can find an article in there to help you to define exactly what you need to do.
