It contained no cash and no credit cards ... just my library card, drivers licence, school ID, and Red Cross blood doner card.

What should I do? I am panicking.

Thank goodness it had no cash and credit cards - that would have been the worst! What about your debit card? Contact any banks you might have had information in there to get replacement cards. You'll have to go to DMV to get a new drivers license and the library to get a new library card and school for a new ID.

Calm down and take a deep breath. The thing you lost are easily replaceable, and it would be very difficult for anyone to steal your identity with these items.

Retrace your steps, starting with the first place you went this morning. Search every room in your house, your car, and visit each room at the school you went to today. Check in the school office and at any stores you might have visited. Have someone else help you look, and be sure to open things from the opposite side you usually do (ie, open your car from the passenger as well as the driver's side) to get a fresh view. Drug the contents of your bags, purses, and jackets on the floor, and turn the bags literally inside out. This is the best way to be thorough.

If you still really can't find it by tomorrow, go the library, the school, and the DMV to report your lost cards and request new ones. The DMV will probably charge you a small fee and make you take a new picture. You can call the Red Cross to request a new card as well.

I agree with teresathegreat except for 1 point. Your drivers license MAY contain enough information for identity theft. I have heard it is possible to determine a social security number from SOME states drivers license numbers. If this is true, that would be all that is needed for identity theft. Given your name, birth date, and address, they may be able to track down your social security number with effort.

call all the companies that had to do with anything you lost in your wallet and cut off the leases
that way, the person who finds it, wont be able to use anything in it
besides paper cash...

Report it as lost and then replace the lost items.
