down size your life style a bit and do not charge anything you can not pay off when it appears on you cc -- every payday pay your self first -- start off small say as little as 2% -- buy a savings bond -- you can buy one for as little as $25.00 but you can not touch it for 6 months -- after you get used to living on the reduced income raise the percent and look for better investments!!!

have a long hard look at your lifestyle.
Take a pocket book (about 20p in most newsagents) with you everywhere for a week and write down every time you spend even 5p.
Then at the end of the week see what you bought that you needed, could live with out or was a total impulse buy.
Also cut up all credit cards/store cards etc - only spend cash and give yourself a limit ie get all your direct debits out within a day of being paid, get the shopping done, pay your debts and then what ever is left over is what you have - £200 for the month - £50 per week. Only every draw out that set amount in cash and when its gone its gone.
Its easier to spend on a credit card than it is when you actually see the amount in your wallet getting smaller!
Good luck

Spend less than you earn.
If you do that, you can use the difference to pay off debt and build savings. If you don't, you are getting deeper in debt, even if you don't realize you are.
