ooooh, good question, i used to know the answer but i cant remember now!!!, im gonna go find out!

i have heard that blue was the best colour to ward off evil and men were seen a the superior sex so it was given to them, i still haven't found out why its pink for girls though!

It used to be the other way around. As an example, look at Little House on the Prairie or some other western and notice how many men & boys wore pink while the women wore blue. Pink was considered much to strong a color for women & girls.

I'm not sure how it got switched.

I'm not saying pink is a girly color, but it isn't a manly color either. Some shades of blue aren't very manly either, which is why I never joined the Air Farce.

Maybe because a lot of flowers are pink and shades of pink?? And blue because the ocean is blue and boys/men used to be the only ones allowed to go on ocean adventures??

it actually only goes baack to around World War I; so it's a rather recent tradition - and a rather arbitrary one.
