While driving I noticed my spedometer was showing 100mph. When I stopped it only went down to 90mph. This is the first time this has happened, can someone help me?

if you car has a cable going to the speedometer, you can try taking that off and spraying inside the cable with wd40. if that doesn't help any, then it might be that the gauge in the dash is bad. if you have a sensor on the transition and a wire to the spedometor, it could be a short in the wire, or it could simply be a bad connection somewhere, at the most it could be a bad sensor. either way i recommend letting a shop look at it before you go pulling connectors off if its a sensor run speedometer.
good luck

Maybe you are still going 90 MPH and just don't know it.

This sounds like a warranty situation. Take it in and have them fix it.

You may have an old cable style speedometer or a wire that runs to a sensor. The latter is harder to diagnose.

Good Luck!

It could be a bad speed sensor in the transmission or the instrument panel is shot

What make and model car you have, it depends on many factors why something like that would happen
