Anybody got some motorbike stories? I gotta get back on the road. My bike's been out of commission and I have been stalling on getting it fixed. I need a jolt that will get me excited again.

My wife and I and a couple of other club members rode to Corpus Christi, Tx. last Memorial Day weekend. We left at 2:00pm, ran into rain about 3:00pm, ran out of the rain 300 miles later just out of San Antonio, Tx. We went thru the downtown leg of I 35 about midnight, very little traffic on the road and all the skyscrapers lit up, it was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.

Riding to Daytona on the Fatboy I rented in Orlando after flying into the airport there -- Early that morning I had been scraping ice off my windshield in Maryland, and at 1:00 I was out on the roads of central Florida, hair flying...first time riding without a helmet. Great bike! Had California plates (all the rented ones there did) A truck passed with a bunch of guys whistling cheering, etc. One of the guys yelled out "Hey! You ridin' to Daytona all the way from California???" I yelled back "You betchour sweetazz!!" as I pulled into the Broken Spoke Saloon. Tooo Funnny!!! Hey, how would they ever know?? Unless they read this and if so...Ha Ha fooled you!!!

After using OPs in my young infants, i offered my first bike in 1979. It grew to become right into a 'seventy 4 Harley FX - the kick-in straight forward terms 1200cc "Superglide" sort. i'm going to confess, my determination grew to become into based partly on Harley's mystique and "outlaw" photograph. I grew up around those adult adult males. that's what they rode, and that i had to be like them. nonetheless, i've got under no circumstances regretted my decision. the 2nd I threw a leg over that bike, I knew i grew to become into on the main suitable device. And, in spite of the indisputable fact that my Harley grew to become into outfitted throughout the time of the infamous AMF years, I nonetheless have it, and that's nonetheless the main suitable device for me. I do an excellent sort of the paintings myself, and function nicely over 1 / 4-million miles on a bone inventory engine and tranny. the secret? That I do my own paintings, do my suitable to make it suited, and don't beat the crap out of my bike attempting to impression bystanders and nosepickers. i've got ridden my bike all over the country, and does not hesitate to fireside it up the following day morning and do it lower back. over the years i've got owned different Harleys ('seventy six FXE, 'ninety six FLH) and that they the two had that comparable allure for me. I in straight forward terms permit 'em bypass because of the fact i could not justify the funds of protecting 'em on the time, yet I particular wish I coulda stored 'em, now! My present day good is composed of that unique 'seventy 4 FX, an '87 HD FXR, and a '00 BMW R1100R, and that they are ALL a blast to experience! i've got additionally ridden sportbikes, and metric cruisers, and enjoyed them, too. nonetheless, at heart i'm a Harley guy via and via. although, in assessment to many of the bozos different persons right here have encountered (you recognize those I recommend), i'm not competing interior the "loudest pipes and maximum chrome" contest. I purely prefer to experience my motorcycles, and revel in my life. And, additionally in assessment to 3 of those aforementioned bozos, I have no bone to %. with all of us else's sort decision. in case you're on 2 (or 3) wheels, you're ok by utilising me. in case you recognize my possibilities, i'm going to be better than happy to understand yours. Hell, i'm going to even pop for a chilly drink on the tip of the experience!
