Eminem gets success by talking about drugs, violence, misogeny, rape, and general "shock" music.

In terms of pure skill, Vanilla Ice rapped circles around the little rabbit Eminem. And that cat could dance. Vanilla Ice is the Godfather of white rap... and quite possibly the most talented rapper in history (white or black).

I loved watching that, it brought back so many memories.

You know... that album sold about 13 million copies.
In terms of breaking new racial barriers, that is one thing Vanilla Ice does have over Eminem which no one can dispute. For alot of people, it comes down to "street cred" and I can see that, but there is no doubting that Vanilla Ice did have skills... maybe even better skills then Eminem.

I liked Vanilla Ice back in the day, but Eminem is a genius with the way he rhymes. Have you seen the movie 8 Mile?

The Beastie Boys were the first white rappers. As far as God father/s of white Rap, you have to give it to 3rd Bass.

Vanilla Ice never had the strength of star power beyond his first "hit". Ain't no way he even compares to The King. -- well, they are both Caucasian, but that's about it.
