Do You Tell Them What You Post On This Site ?

I tell my mom sometimes about what I say and others say on here . She's astonished at what some people say . She's a true neocon too . Yep , our whole family converted at about the same time. . . the Jimmy Carter years .

I come from a family of conservatives. Mom & Dad, who are both elderly were over the other evening for dinner and I showed them some of the things on this site.

Needless to say, they ROARED. There was some pretty funny stuff. In particular, they really got a chuckle out of some of the avatars that some people use.

As a child growing up and well into adulthood, I never knew what my parents political views were.

It must have killed them when I came home on fourth grade and announced we had a vote in our class for President and I voted for Jimmy Carter - and he won.

lol

We don't talk about the forums here, but we do talk a lot about politics.
My father is like a silver fox with politicians. Very sharp, genuine and spot-on with perceptiveness.

edit:
hey suthrnlyts - Did they laugh at any of my silly ramblings??? ;)

Father is a moderate Republican, hates being taxed, mother a latent liberal, thinks she is a Republican. Rest of family probably more Rep with a couple libs.
Brother in the army, a lib.
Brother in the navy would never criticize Clinton while in office. I thought he was a dope. He said, "he is my Commander in Chief."
He now does criticize Clinton. He was an officer so he didn't express his views. Even around Christmas. Also said he wouldn't waste his time on this site. Same with my dad. Mom wouldn't even think of using a computer.
They consider politics my hobby.

My mom and sister (both Dem's) are proud of what I stand for, though some of my ideas are a bit too conservative for their own tastes.

My dad and I had a great political discussion the last time he came up to visit (our first political discussion, in fact), and we agreed on a lot about the current administration, though he's Republican and I'm independent. I think we surprised each other in regards to our views, but certainly not in a negative way. I think it's brought us closer, actually.

I converted during the Carter years also. My Dad, God rest his sole, was a Hubert Humphrey Democrat. A Liberal in the Kindest sense. He thought Carter was a Weenei, and actually voted for Reagan.
My dad died in 1981, but I think he would be with me on some things, and yell at me for others.

Parents not alive but I know when my grandparents were alive I talked to them more than anyone about my political views. I probably agree more with them politically than any other members of my family since I think my grandparents did truly relate to the term compassionate conservative long before it was in use by the Bush administration.

My parents both grew up in a part of Tennessee where their were no Republicans. Dad used to tell me how folks voted for the democrat who could furnish the most whiskey--it was a dry county. We moved from their when I was 6 months old. The older Dad got the more conservative he became much like me. He is gone now but I learned much from him: Be hard working, love your family, love your Country and beware of someone who wants to give you everything(democrats) cradle to grave.

They never actually talked politics while I was growing up. We were not anywhere near wealthy. My parents both worked hard. They never accepting any government handouts during even hard times. I learned to be independent, earn my own way in this world by working hard and taking care of myself and my family. I paid my own way through college and felt it made me a stronger person than one who relies on government aid. Yes, I am a conservative.

Why have conservative made me and Dubya into their gods. I mean we can do no wrong in their eyes. This has been the easy job Dubya and I have ever had. Its like leading the sheep to the slaughter house. Republicans never saw it coming.

I wish we had a congress that knew its job, about keeping executive branch in check. I mean they let us pretty much do anything we want to, all we have to do is, war on terrorism and bam! they give us what we want.

And don't let me get started on the media, what media, they have been asleep for seven years. They are not reporting the stuff were doing, because they are afraid of us. Besides big corporations own the media, and they are our friends.

So what I am trying to say people. Since the Congress and the Media have no BALL...

It's up to you the People, to Stop us. If you can.

Naaa....Its too late Dubay and I have already done our damage to this country. And nobody cared.

Well my family is taken in by the democrat line for the most part. I have been a republican since I was 6 I was the only kid in school that had a picture of Nixon on their notebook. I have a cousin that is an anarchist but he calls himself a libertarian. My views are not all that well received in my family especially when I explain to them what they are really voting for and tell them what the democrats really do.
