Okay recently while on a road trip i was inspired out of the blue with this (what i think good) book idea...Ive been writing all my ideas, characters, and plot points on a notepad, but idk what to do now. Do i start actually writing? or do i/can i send in my idea to someone who could actually publish it? I would really love to see this idea come through in some way, any help would be greatly appreciated :) thanks

If it's fiction, you need to write it first, then find an agent. It's hard to get a publisher to take your book seriously unless it goes through an agent-- some won't even look at it.

In the mean time, try getting some short stories published (this will help you get an agent).

I'm in the same boat as you. Don't know what to do now that I have my ideas. Perhaps we can collaborate? My email is interestedsinger@yahoo.com

Not sure where to send in your idea for someone else to write for you, but the best advice I can give you is to just simply start writing. Eventually all the pieces will come together. Don't get hung up on spelling, grammar, etc. As long as you got it all written out, you can always fix that later. And there are editors once a publisher accepts your work(long and hard journey)

Good Luck!

Unless you are an already established writer, you must write it first. Then try to find an agent, if no one helps, you can try to solicite some of the publishers that publish your type of book. Non-fiction, fiction, adventure, sci-fi ect.....

you can pay to publish it your self to get some interest generated and hope apublisher sees it as valuable, or put it on the interent for all to read and plan on selling the next one if it gets big.

Good luck

You have to have a complete manuscript before you can start querying publishers and agents. Unless you want someone to ghost write it for you which is extremely expensive. Get yourself a book called The First Five Pages and read it. Then start writing. Pax - C

write the story/novel. You MUST have a finished, edited and critiqued manuscript before you begin sending queries. If its a short story most publishers want you to send the manuscript, and not do a query.

SHOW DON'T TELL the story. Keep it active and don't fall into the passive trap. Stay away from "flowery" language unless your writing a romance, or travel log.

but above all else WRITE

Try making an outline of the information that you already have. You can have a "characters" section, a "setting" section, etc. and try to fill out the details of each "piece" of your idea. Once you've done this, you may find that the story starts writing itself.

Well...duh! lol

YOU START WRITING IT!

Rarely does anyone "buy" ideas for the book--unless you're a superbly/well-establish/major domo-type of author who can SNEEZE the wrong way and still get the agent/publisher's attention. :0)

Similar to author of 'Eragon'; he got his ideas out of the blues, wrote the whole thing down, and sent it to someone (dunno who) which eventually made it very popular in the end!

I'm sure the author (who is still a teenager btw) made a lot of written mistakes, but it was all filtered out eventually by the pros...

So, yeah, i cud see where your story cud go!

Just write the whole thing down and hope for the best!

you have to have written the story before sending it to a publisher, and probably redraft it a few times

Good luck!!
