OK Here is the email, what should I do. Help me I'm scared!
From Miss Rita Gnanzi.
Attn: Dearest Beloveth One,
Hello and how are you, hope you are fine and in good condition of health.I want you to understand that my contact with you is not by accident, It is true that we have not known each other for the first time but just getting to know one another which I strongly believe that it will take us to great relationship financially and otherwise. Before I continue with my discussion with you, let me introduce myself in details.
I am the first daughter of the ex-minister of finance (Mr.Jean.Gnanzi).My late father was a minister of finance of our country before the current opposition party in the present Government in COTE D`IVOIRE. my father/mother including my younger brother was murdered by the unknown REBELS during the time they attack our house by shooting and looting, even this is one of the things that contributed to the present crisis in our country today after they killed some other military leaders. It pains my heart to tell this story but I must to save myself from suffering and sorrow.
God so kind I was not in town when the incident occurred, the plans of the REBELS is to kill every members of our family so that no one will rise up to revenge as time goes on. I am in our country without any one knowing it so that the unknown REBELS will not get me and kill me like they killed all the members of our family. Why I am still staying here in our country is to transfer the total sum of $4.5million U.S.dollars which, my late father deposited in the custody of a leading bank here in Abidjan, he deposited the fund with the name of my younger brother who was killed in the riot as the next of KIN while he used the name of one of his foreign partner as the beneficiary of the fund because he wanted to transfer the fund abroad before his untimely death.
Before the death of my father in one of the private hospital, he gave me the covering documents of the fund deposits in the Bank, as I am his first daughter and he so much loved me with trust that was why he handed this documents to me for safe keeping and advised me to look for a good person abroad who will transfer the fund for me so that I can leave this country.
Currently the amount in the bank which I am having the documents is $4.5m U.S.D. Right now I wish to transfer this fund to you so that you will assist me leave this country and to invest the money into any viable sector in your country, also you will help me to join you in your country for me to start up a new life with you there immediately the fund gets to your account as I am willing to continue with my education too.
Since I am no longer safe as far as Africa is concern at the moment, I wanted to transfer the fund before leaving the country because this fund is my last hope and the only hope I have now. I don't know how we will go about it but I hope hearing from you before I can know which decision to make next. I will like you to stand as the foreign beneficiary of the fund, as I will officially introduce you as the new beneficiary to enable the bank transfer this fund to your name to your country from here before I come to join you. Like I said, all I need from you is your kindness and sincererity in all we do, I will be willing to trust all this into your care provided you promised taking care of me because I don't have anyone to run to.
Before I even pick you to assist me I have prayed and slept over it asking God to provide for me a Godly minded person that will assist me in this transaction that was the reason why l am sending you this email today. I will give you more details and also the bank information in my next email. Including the documents and also my pictures.
Awaiting to here from you.
Thanks and God bless you.
Rita Gnanzi.

OK some of this has been said by others here but lets clarify and make a point all at once.
1) REPORT THIS TO YOUR PROVIDER AND AUTHORITIES!!!!!!!!!!
Too many people complain about criminal activity on the Internet. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. We all would like to see this kind of crap stopped. Doing nothing as too many here have suggested just victimizes someone else. Take a stand. You have been attacked choose to fight back (albeit peacefully). I'll watch your back if you watch mine.
2) block the address
3) delete the file

Ignore it. This is one of a variety of emails sent by scammers seeking to engage you in a dialog that will eventually result in them asking for your bank account info. so they can "transfer" their money. The only transferring that will be done is your money away from you. Delete it - don't reply, even to say you know they are scammers.
You could forward it to the authorities but there are so many of these schemes out there they won't be able to do anything about it.
I repeat: Ignore it. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!

Ignore it and delete the email. It's a SCAM. If you send them any information, they will take over your identity and use it for criminal activity. They do NOT know who you are. The email was sent out by an automated SPAM bot. They only know if you exist IF YOU REPLY. So the best thing to do is to ignore it and delete the email.
I get about 500 of these a day - literally.

I am very glad to hear that you know right off the bat that it's a scam! But it's not scary. Whoever sent this sent hundreds more with it to all kinds of random email addresses. It's not personal. Just criminals doing business, trying to get people's bank account numbers. You can report it to the server that your email account is with if you like.

I've had quite a few of these emails myself in the past. The best thing that i advise you to do is mark this message as spam, that way any that you receive from this person in future will go straight into your spam folder and will then be automatically deleted after a month or so. Good luck.

Twenty million from Nigeria, One million from the U.S.A. and quite a few smaller amounts from elsewhere, The one that really makes my blood boil are those that offer something for free and then you find them asking for a credit card as soon as you open them. e.g. Free guitar lessons from Great Britain, Any numbskull with two fingers could learn the crap they claim to give you free. They would get a lot more customers being honest. As would all the rest of the con sights in cyberspace, A con is a con when it does not supply what it claims it can.

It's probably a Nigerian scamster operating out of a boiler room. I get about three on average per day! Just add the sender's email to your email client's killfile (email filter) and the jerk should not be able to mail you again provided that they don't change their email address every day, which actually isn't too uncommon (sigh). And remember to *never* respond to these bogus solicitations - your email address will be added to their 'sucker list' and you will get ten times the amount of spam you currently receive.

Since these are randomly sent, just view the full header, Copy and paste it into an email, then paste the email text in and send it to abuse@your.mail.domain (the part after the @ in your email address) They will teat it very seriously and in strict confidence. The more people report these evil people, the sooner they get stopped. They are normally not too clever, just look at the English language they have butchered. They often end up in prison.

It is a made up story to get you to give them your bank account(s). DO NOT REPLY! One, they will know it is active email, 2 mark it as spam and ignore it. As long as you do not reply, they cannot harm you further. Except with more scam mails. Just Ignore.
