Trust me, everyone thinks about this at least once in life.

For thousands of years man has pondered his existence. This is why we have things like religion which is comforting and reassuring; and science which makes us feel more significant in that we are actively inquiring about ourselves and when we find information, we feel justified and powerful in that we 'figured it out'.

However, the truth is we can and will never know THE reason any of us is here. What we can know is that we ARE here, and whether by fate or arbitrary chance and coincidence, we are here and that is what matters.

No one truly has bad luck in everything, but usually just hasn't found his/her niche or is looking too hard for it. Most people are good at a few or several things without being great at any one thing. Just the fact that you have access to a computer shows how privileged you are in a world when the majority of the human race lives in poverty, filth, pain or uncertainty of tomorrow and hopelessness.
Look at all you have at your disposal to teach yourself, skills to acquire, things you can actively do to become 'good' at something. Think of all the power you have by living in a western society - the people you could help, the charity you could give, organizations you could create and then live for their causes.

And, by just being here we all serve a purpose: you mean something to the people in your life, you contribute CO2 to the organisms around you, your words and actions affect all you come into contact with even it seems very insignificant.
You DO have a reason to be here by the very fact that you ARE here. What matters now is what you do with it. If you choose to do something positive with yourself and your life, you can say THAT was your purpose. If you just breathe in and out and merely exist, you can say THAT was your purpose. It is all up to you.

I want to share my favorite poem with you; I think you may get something out of it:

Invictus

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

----William Ernest Henley. 1849–1903

Good luck

For life to have purpose it would have to be placed there by a person. I think that idea is quite silly. I guess that is why humans created God. An anrthopomorphic idolization of humanity itself. Whether or not a god or gods exist, i don't have the answer. The truth is we don't really know exactly how everything came to be. The foolish thing to do is make up some fairytale explanation for everything.

You don't really know anything. All you have is your own being to go on. You must trust what your brain shows and tell you. For all you know, you're brain is inventing your experiences, because it bascially is. You see colors, they don't really exist. You hear noises, but they are really just vibrations that your brain turns into sound. You feel things, but that is only your nerves sending messges to the brain. Your brain interprets everything you experience. How do you know it is acurate? All you have is yourself. You should live in your own purpose. Do things you have never done before. I live to be happy, because all you know is this life, and you should protect it.

All you can be sure of it that you live now, in the present, and you should make it all it's worth. If some sort of god had a purpose for you, he would let you know, or you are already are serving your purpose. Honestly, you don't know anything beyond the corporeal.

Our or ones purpose in life should be what ones feel comfortable at. If you really are unhappy, don't like what is going on in your life, then rearrange it.
Change for the better, so you can stop being a prison in your own body. Step out on the wild side, take a plunge, who know just might like what you see and are doing.

If makes you happy, not hurting anyone then go for it, as life is to dam short to be wasting on empty space. Only you can break that chain, and when you do you will feel like someone has lifted a 500 lb. piano off your back.

Purpose requires a Creator who put you on earth for a purpose. If there is no God, there can't be any purpose for your life.

Most people connect purpose with feeling good about themselves but it's not real purpose, it's only a bunch of meaningless feelings. They do what they want to do in life and then pretend that is the same as what they were meant to do.

Real purpose comes from seeking our Creator. If He exists, He must have put our need for purpose into our human nature to point us to seek Him.

You should look at why you even need a purpose and who put that idea there. There is a constant pressure to 'be' something other than what we are and disguise it as the term called purpose or fate.

Don't ask what it is but why it is even necessary for living when it only has to do with how you perceive an idea of your 'self'.

Maybe your purpose is to overcome obstacles to make you stronger or learn something from them. Whether or not life has a purpose is not for us to know...just deal with things as they come your way. If there is a purpose, by doing that you are doing what you are suppose to do.

Change your focus. Like attracts like. If you are getting bad stuff, you are drawing it into your life. The universe is ready to give you what you ask for, so start asking for the good. Remember, what you perceive and truly believe, you can achieve. If you are in a hole, it's a really good idea to quit digging. Blessings on you.

Perhaps your purpose is to absorb bad luck, thereby making life better for everyone else around you, since they didn't get it. Hey, that could make you pretty popular!!!
