you should use the resource CD!
but if you can get to internet you could also go to their website and type up your service tag number and theyll let you know what type of LAN card you have installed in your CPU box when u bought it.
download the driver and waaahhlaaahh. your set!

1. Windows, although not always, often comes with network card drivers for your card.
2. Go to the card manufacturer's website, and download the drivers for it. If you tell me the card, I can find the driver for you. (Dell does not make network cards; they contract the job out to other companies).
3. Go to the Dell website, look up your model, and download the LAN drivers. If you tell me the model of your computer, I can look it up for you.
In all of these cases, you should not usually need a CD, unless you want to save the driver for safe-keeping.

support.dell.com it's all very straight forward from there.
but if you didn't get your NIC from dell you'd have to go that vendors support website.
