Depends. Some people smile in return when you smile. Others don't return the favour. To be honest, there are times when I smile, and everyone around me does too, and then there are times that I am the only one smiling.
The key is to smile at others regardless of whether the rest of the world smiles. In order to see a positive change in the world we need to take risks and put ourselves out there.
Never EXPECT a smile in return, but always have an EXPECTATION of yourself to smile and promote positivity to others - strangers on the street etc. Sharing the love without care to the response is the key to having a healthy attitude. Plus, who knows, when you least expect it, you might cheer up someone who really needs some cheering up! I know that sometimes when I'm having a bad day, and a complete stranger smiles at me, I feel like at least somebody acknowledges my existence or cares, and that just turns it all around. So the best we can do is what requires the least amount of effort, why not continue it?
Thanks for the positivity message, and keep on smiling! =)

The people who care about me, strangers in my building and sometimes on the streets. A good smile can be utterly contagious.

my friends, my family, sometimes strangers. Smiles are contagious so if you're laughing and smiling, other people sometimes smile too!
