Here's the way this silly item works:

1. In the "Normal" setting the computer effectively gives you the best miles per gallon by shifting the transmission into the next higher gear at the lowest required RPM (for torque) to sustain your current speed and continue accelerating normally or gradually like most of us do all the time.

2. In the "Sport" or "Performance" setting the computer allows the transmission to shift much later and the engine is running at higher RPM's which means more torque than is necessary to sustain your speed and or accelerate is being generated.

This means you are burning more gasoline and are putting more stress on the motor and drivetrain than is normal.

I don't know when this application is practical but if you are a "power hungry ego maniac", like my brother-in-law, you might have the impression of having "more power" do to the higher engine RPM's and the noise this creates.

The "Normal" setting is for "normal" people. The other setting is for "abbynormal" people.

Good Luck!
