I'm 13 and I haven't had my period yet. Most of my friends have started but why haven't I?

Some girls just start at a later age. There is no set age at which it will come. It may be another year or two, maybe more.

Because God has blessed you with an extra few months without the scourge of menstruation.

No, really honey, I don't think you've got anything to worry about until you're 16 or so. My mom didn't have a period until 16 and she had babies just fine--a healthy person.

HOWEVER, just because you've not started your period does NOT mean that you can't get pregnant. You need to use the same precautions you would use with any sexual encounter.

Believe me, ask any of your friends, having a period sucks. Sometimes it hurts a lot, sometimes it's just a drop big enough to stain your jeans and send you home from school. Enjoy NOT having a period. Yours may be completely normal, no pain, etc. I hope so. If not, talk to your dr. There are specific meds he can give you that really, really help.

Don't worry about it. You probably a late starter. Hey these periods can be very painful. So be careful for what you're asking for. You're 13 now so that means you're growing up, honey I am more than twice your age so slow down your time will come and then you would wish you could be 13 again. Enjoy being young.

Ask your mom when she started her period. generally you can expect your to begin at the same age. Have you started puberty yet? Breast buds, growth of hair under your arms and on your private parts, have you started your growth spurt, are your hips getting more curve , do you notice any white discharge? All of those things come around the time your period is going to start. It will happen soon, and then you will wish you didn't have it.

Some girls just start later, you never know when you are going to start even when you finally do, but you might start just close to your 14 year of age or 15. I started when I was 14, I wondered the same but don't worry you will eventually.

You're probably just on the late side. Talk to your mother or a person you can trust. You might want to visit the doctor for a check up if you don't get it by your 14th birthday.

Once it comes, it can be a real pain. So don't rush mother nature.

Everyone gets it at different times, my sister didn't get hers til she was 19! But if you have hit puberty and still haven't got it it may be because of a great shift in weight or too sudden of an increase in exercise.

It just depends on you body type and figure. I have a best friend that is now 19 and she actually started the summer after her 17th birthday so its nothing odd you're just a late bloomer. No worries.
