is there going to be a star wars 7 because my friend is always telling me that there is going to be one but didint all the bad guys die in the 6th one?and is there going to be a 7th?

Originally George Lucas had planned to make a total of nine movies but I haven't heard anything about him making more movies.

I heard a long time ago that there were originally 3 trilogy's. That was way before episodes 1-3 came out though. I have seem many interviews with George Lucas, and he talks about the current movies like they are whole. So I doubt there will be anymore. However, Lucas is a money hoarder, so if he thinks 3 more movies will make money, then he will surely make more. After he sells the current ones digitally remastered or special edition box set 5 different ways. I love starwars, but Lucas sucks.

George Lucas is working on a tv series with star wars; the clone wars. He said he's finished with the star wars movies and no more will be made.
I think if he would have went forward in the story it would have been a bigger hit. Only the last one he made was a good movie; the other two were a bit boring. Its hard to get into something if you know whats going to happen.

There have been rumors (and unofficial stories) surrounding Luke's rebuilding of the Jedi Order and Han and Leia's kids, but Lucas has never officially confirmed a third trilogy. In fact, he's said he will not make a third trilogy (he denied a second trilogy for years, though, too). Honestly, if there is a third trilogy, I hope Lucas' only involvement is in the storyline.
I have one word for any future Star Wars projects: Tartakovsky.

George Lucas has a story for another trilogy but I thought I remember that he says he does not want to make any more Star Wars movies. He also does not plan on allowing other people to take it over either. I think that he is planning on the two trilogies and the supplemental movies.

George Lucas had originally planned for 3 trilogies in the Star Wars saga, but he wanted to focus on the story of Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader, so he will not make one.

There are tons of books based on that star wars universe from after the emperor dies. There is plenty of material if George Lucas wants to make another movie. But, only he knows if he wants to or not :)

There won't be anymore Star Wars films according to George Lucas. However, what your friend could have been referring to were the comic sequels that featured Luke & Leia's children who became Jedi.

There are pleny of novels, which procede Return of Jedi; however, Lucas has made it clear that he's not making another Star Wars movie.
