cold reading is actually the practice of making someone think you know much more about them than you really do. its like profiling, you size the person up, and make educated guesses about their personality, clothing, ethnicity, likes and dislikes simply by following what their body language and appearance tell you about them.

Cold reading is a technique that some "fortune tellers" use. They are able to use your body language to get information from you without you knowing. In other words you give things away about yourself withouot knowing. Just to add to this you might make a correct judgement about somebody from the dress etc and sometimes you are spot on and amaze yourself. Derren Brown the illusionist has exlained this many times and confesses he is a fraud, and yet has convinced people he is a medium.

Cold reading is when you place your reading material in a freezer until it chills
then you take it out and quickly read it...
