Visible blue light is light that has a wavelength of about 475 nm. Because the blue wavelengths are shorter in the visible spectrum, they are scattered more efficiently by the molecules in the atmosphere. This causes the sky and other objects to appear blue.

Truthfully, blue is something your mind made up. Like others have said, it's a wave on the magnetic spectrum, but your brain interprets it as blue.
In other words, blue, like all colors is a shared hallucination.
