I mean in high school you can choose to be in the dance team, dance line, or competition

1. dance line and or kick line is a dance team that concentrates on high kick, rockette style routines. This style dance team does compete but only in high kick and may be pom style routines
2. dance team is a team that does perform dance routines.
Usually in Jazz, Hip Hop, and maybe Lyrical they would
compete in those catagories.
3. Competition Dance-I am a bit unsure of this cataegory.
Does your High School offer Dance Classes. Maybe
this is a team that lets dancers compete in dance
competitions and all different styles of dance. I am not
100 percent sure but this is my guess.

1 dance line - (what's the context?)
(a) Perhaps this is about line of dance in ballroom dancing - which is the counter clockwise direction in which the dancers move as they dance around the room--usually referred to as "Line of Dance".
(b) some social dances (line the hustle, lindy/swing, west coast swing, are considered "line dances" because the dancers walk in a specific direction when the step.
(c) Line dances such as "the electric slide" or the chorus line in a broadway show or ballet, has many dancers dancing in place in a row and column formation, a line.
(d) When dancers of all type (ballet, social) dance they create "figures" on the floor which are lines (similar to what ice skaters do).
2 Dance Team - a group of people who either dance together simultaneously as a "team" or separately, individually or in combinations as a team in a dance competition or performance.
3. Competition dance - any type of dance performance where the dancers are judged and ranked based on the quality of the parformance.

a dance line is a line of dancers in a row or what not like a line!
a dance team is a group of humans who dance together in a team
competition dance - is where a dance team gets to gether and makes lots of dance lines to win a competition!
