For grocery shopping -- plastic. For wiping in the toilet -- definitely paper! And yes on the fries, but not while in the toilet.

Fabric!! Plastic is horrible for the environment. Paper is easier to recycle, but I'm tired of trees and forests being destoyed for the grocery industry. I use the bags they sell at the store for 1.00, that are made from recycled materials. They are really great.
