First person narration is when the narrator is telling his own story ( I fell in love, I hated school, I wanted to buy the...)
An omniscient narration is when the narrator seems to know everything possible about the characters, situation, etc. (John didnt feel anything special towards his girlfriend, but she was in love with him, Sue didnt get along with her mother, , she didnt know she was adopted) Its as though the narrator in this case has God like knowledge of everything that is going on, something thast a first person narrator couldnt possibly know.

these are two different types of what we call the narrative focalization :
The intern focalization (what you called first person) is based on telling the story from inside the character (his thoughts, sight and feelings). The reader knows as much as the the character about his entourage.
The omniscient focalization is a way to relate events from a 'divine' point of view: the narrator gives a multitude of details non relative to time and space, he can also give thought and feelins of other elements of the story. In this case, the reader knows more than the character.
There's also a third type of focalization called extern, where the narrator is giving the story as he was spying the character. He can only give sensitive and objective information from a third person point of view. In this case, the character knows more than the reader

First person narration is being told from someone involved in the story, and it is influenced by their own feelings and insights. Omniscient narration is being told from an "all knowing being" outside of the story, and can know the thoughts and feelings of anyone in the story. Just look at it as if God was telling a story about someone on earth.

First person is the point of view told by the main character and what he thought of it. For example, in "Gulliver's Travels", Gulliver is actually telling the story as he experienced it.
Omniscient narration is where the narrator knows everything about every character. The narrator is unbiased and can tell the story accurately.

a first person narrator is a passive observer with biases, an omniscient narrator knows all. he can enter the thoughts of the characters and tell the reader exactly what the character is thinking.

First person would be a story told from the main character's point of view. The words "I" and "me" are used often. "I went to the store, and it was scary crossing the busy road. Mary came along, and she appeared very brave as she skipped merrily on her way." is an example of first person narration. The narrator knows only those actions (s)he witnesses, and only his/her own thoughts. A great example of first person narration is the Odd Thomas books by Dean Koontz.
Omniscient narration is told from the point of view of a narrator who knows all (sorry for the redundant description). Most novels are written from this point of view. The story teller knows the thoughts, feelings and actions of all of the story’s characters, and can provide commentary beyond that of the main character. “Tom was visibly nervous as he and Mary crossed the busy road on their way to the store. Mary’s light steps and smile masked her own fears, not wishing to allow Tom to know of her apprehensions” is an example of omniscient narration. The narrator was able to provide insight into the action and feelings of both characters.

First person tells a story from only their point of view. Omniscient narration tells from all points of view as an onlooker would.
