Kate McCann said her faith in God has been shaken by the abduction of her three-year-old daughter.

If there is a god, what faith would he/she/it have in a mother that abandons her 3 young children to go out eating and drinking for the evening ?

A question combining the McCanns and Religion. That's just spiffing.

Thank you for ruining my evening.

I think it's high time that the McCanns--and everyone else--look in the mirror to find where their 'faith' should be.

The little children put there faith where it should be--in their parents. When their parents let them down, they have no one to blame but themselves.

This is not intended to be harsh, it is simply the truth. My daughter is 26, on her own, able to take care of herself to the best of my ability to protect her when she was small and guide her when she got big enough to look after herself.

My mom told us, "I got you to 18 with all your fingers and toes, it's up to you to keep them now." This meant a great deal to me, because that included every time she denied herself something she wanted to make sure we got something we needed, including her presence to protect us.

I think people at all levels of society need PARENTING CLASSES, because the two babies still in the McCanns' casual care are no better off, really, than poor little Maddie.

i've got donated food and funds. that's not comparable to i'm all-powerful, such as you declare your god is. the only you have faith implicitly, who from all indications is completely indifferent to suffering or the rest that is going on in the worldwide. hundreds of thousands of folk are good without gods. If the question is a valid one, then why do you refuse to look for an answer? All you're doing is misattributing the strikes of genuine life human beings to what's indistinguishable from an imaginary buddy. and that's ungrateful.

You sick b*stards the lot of you - if there was such a thing as god why was he not around to protect this child? Is he really such a judgemental w*nker that he somehow dealt a lesson to the mother for making a bad call? This case proves there is no such thing as God because it is a figment of your imagination to think somehow justice is done because the parent is punished now. What about the child? What about the evil that abducted her? You are stupid and ignorant to somehow blame anyone other than the person that took that poor child. Shame on you

There was a baby sitting service, they should have used it. The fact that they wanted to go to the Tapas bar is completely irrelevant as is whether they had lobster and wine or lager and chips.

My uncle is a pastor, has his doctorates in religion, committed his whole life to God and he has cancer right now, Bless his heart. He does not blame God for his sickness nor has it wavered his faith. We can not blame God for things we have caused. Sickness is man made, not God made. Same goes for Kate McCann, God didn't leave his child unattended, she did. Pretty sad she'd pass the buck onto God in my eyes.

It's not anything to do with god, they walk out of that apartment on may 3rd, and left those children alone, the parents made that choice themselves.

some believe that there are old and new souls and that we keep being reborn until we have learned all that we need to. it is very sad what happened in this case but maybe it will increase parents awareness thereby saving potentially thousands of others from the same fate? Please God she will be found safe and well.

She also said in an interview on tv on Sunday that she has said the same prayer for years "please keep Maddie safe" was one line in that prayer. God didn't do that, so what make her think he will do it now. It was her job to keep Maddie safe not Gods.

Question is why do they still leave there 2 year old twins in a creche all day, surely they would want them close after what happened? Something fishy there. x
