R = right foot L = left foot

If you want to start with right foot

A single time step is hop step flap step stomp
R R L R L

A double time step is hop flap flap step stomp
R R L R L

A Triple time step is hop shuffle step flap step stomp
R R R L R L

If you want to do to starting with the left foot just use the opposite of above.

This is the way i learned it i don't know if there are any variations. Hope this helps.

the way i learned to do timesteps is this ... (starting on the right foot)

single - shuffle hop step flap step
R R R L R
repeat on other side (L L L R R)
(when i say i hop on the R then the right foot is lifted and the left foot is on the ground and hops)

double - shuffle hop flap flap step
R R R L R
repeat on left - L L L R L

triple - shuffle hop shuffle step flap step
R R R R L R
(left) L L L L R L

"double-triple" - shuffle (or stomp) hop shuffle step shuffle step step
R R R R L L R
on the left - L L L L R R L

a single and double timestep are very similar. there is one part of the step where in the single you'll step, which makes one sound, and in the double you'll flap, which makes two sounds. other than that they are the exact same thing. they can be done starting with either foot, but here are the steps starting on the left -

hop (jump up without switching feet) on your left
step on your right
flap left
step right
stomp left

i know you start with the left, but when teachers say "to the right" its what they mean. just use the other feet to go to the left.

I have no idea what those term you've asked for mean.

Single and double time in dance is related to the music being used for the particular dance. Musicians usually count each measure of music in 4, meaning four beats to the measure. Dancers however count two measures of music for their basic step. For every musical beat, the dancer's step would be counted as "quick". And for every two musical beats, the dancers step would be counted as "slow".

If you think of salsa and take any two measures, the musicians would count them this way:

1-------2------3-------4

1-------2------3-------4

However, dancers count their steps this way (I've shown both the numbers and the quick quick slows):

1--------2-------3--------4
quick quick slow....

5--------6-------7--------8
quick quick slow.....

then repeat from 1.

The quick quicks are excactly twice as fast as the slow. The quicks are double time.

single=stamp(with right foot) brush(with right foot) hop(with left foot) shuffle(with right foot but to the side) step(with right foot) flap(with left foot) step(with right foot)
(reverse the feet when doing a left single time step)

double=stamp(with right foot) brush(with right foot) hop(with left foot) shuffle step(with right foot) shuffle step(with left foot) step(with right foot)
(reverse the feet when doing a left double time step)

Sorry if that doesnt make any sense but I tried my best!!!

Hope I helped=)
