I recently had my brake pads and rotors changed on my car, however, it started to make this grinding noise when breaking (front right side) and also as the wheel is in motion it makes this squeaky noise... anyone familiar with the issue?

New brakes will make a "scrubbing noise" but not a grinding noise or squeaking noise. It sounds like the caliper isn't releasing when you take your foot off the brakes and this needs to be looked at.

Some calipers just don't function properly once they are compressed to put new pads on. The stainless steel piston will have rubber residue and sometimes rust residue from the cast iron caliper housing and this makes the once smooth piston bind and not slide smoothly forward and backward when stomping on the brakes creating drag on the rotors.

Also, most "jerk water" repair shops don't know what silicone brake grease is and therefore do not use it on the caliper pins that will also stick and bind not allowing the rubber seals to slide over the pins when you stomp on the brakes. I have even seen them use regular steering joint grease on these pins and it turns into glue when exposed to the high braking temperatures.

Have them check it out and make the necessary adjustments or repairs.

Good Luck!

Any Grinding noise after a brake job is not good, there should be no noise....If the caliper is bad, then that may have used up brake pad in a hurry, or you could have picked up a rock...take it back to the shop where you got the work done and have them take a look, they should not charge you for this as this would be a warrenty item. if they want to charge you then take it to Les Schwab, they do free Brake Checks.

The grinding in the rear wheel is possibly the two a foul wheel bearing or the brake assembly coming aside. many cases while the brake lining wears all the way down to a undeniable factor that is going to come loose from the shoe and grind around interior the drum. whether that's bearing or brake, in case you fix it in the previous it reasons extra injury, the value could be small while in comparison with the linked fee of the motor vehicle. you're saying the the remainder of the motor vehicle is in stable situation? fix it.

Even though you just had them done, your brakes need to be fixed. Whoever did them didn't do them properly.
