Because Republicans care about little else than making rich people richer and keeping everyone else at the bottom of the food chain. They also don't believe their own rules should apply to them.
Greed is the ugliest of human traits.

That's a pretty broad questions, and one that alot of right wing guys are going to attack you for (rightly so I should add)
When I was a kid I was like you, I use to believe that one party was good (Democrats) And the other was bad (we know who that is)
But in reality there is no good, and bad, there are just shades of Grey. The Dem's control the house and the senate, they allow the president to do whatever he likes. It was many of these same democrats who gave the president the authorization to go to war in the first place when it was popular. They even allowed funding for this war to continue, You have senators that have run for vice president under the Democratic ticket who has openly embraced the republican cause. Hilary Clinton herself put it best, "there really is no difference between us." Point is they're both corrupt and equally responsible for what has happened in past years to our country and it's reputation.

Becuase power corrupts and no one is immune. When the Republican Revolution got started in the 1990's that got them swept into power, the democrats had been in power a long time and were widely seen as corrupt, inept, and lazy.
Now that the republicans have been power for awhile, the same argument is being made against them. What's interesting is that no one is really running enthusiastically back to the democrats. Yes, the dems will likely do well in the next election, but I don't see the same excitement that I did in the 90's.
Perhaps no one really believes in either of them anymore.

Sorry, I don't see it. In fact, finances are pretty good overall. Those tax cuts sure did help. We keep more of our hard earned money and the government gets more because of the positive macroeconomic impact of those tax cuts.
We would be freer if we decreased the size of government. Let's get government out of the education business. They can still provide funding through vouchers to ensure all children get freedom to choose the best educational option but private education is cheaper and more effective.

Because Republicans want to make themselves wealthier at the expense of the American people. Why do you think gasoline costs so much, pharmaceuticals, medical insurance, natural gas, automobiles, etc. Guess who owns all of these industries?...

Because most people in powerful positions tend to go overboard and powertrip big time; they forgot how they got to be powerful in the first place and forget about what Americans really want.
As a side note: I would be more concerned with the education of our youth since our president took a failed program from his home state(excuse me, his adopted home state, he was actually born where I live and hate to admit it, CT) and made it national with No Child Left Behind. I also am incredibly concerned about the tax dollars we have now spent that are being used to kill American soldiers by sending them to a war that shouldn't have existed in the first place!

How exactly am I ruining American values? And finances.
I have a savings, do you? Or do you expect the government to do that for you as well?
