It is fun and every so often you might find a pearl of wisdom.

Because this is still America and that is what Americans do; they debate political issues, learning as much as possible from each side of the argument in order to form a more concise response to the issue. Just because people do not agree with your particular point of view, does not make them Trolls! It makes them intelligent enough to seek answers after looking at the issue from all points of view.
Sorry you feel so negatively about American's and their free speech form of government. Perhaps you would do better emigrating to a country like, say, Iran. Where there is no debate. You believe what the government tells you, or else.

In all honesty...
I gives me a chance to vent. Theres no debate that goes on here, just drive by insults.
Sometimes the insults are hilarious. Ive had some thrown at me that have made me laugh and think were fairly creative.
On rare occasions when somebody has posted a credible link I have learned something that I didnt know was true even about my own party.
But, all in all its pretty much a complete waste of my time.

No, but they took away the message boards where folks could at least debate the issues even with the trolls so this is the best we have for dialog.
Besides, who's trying to change the world? This is merely a narcissistic outlet for us all.

I suppose I have a lingering desire to promote intelligent dialog over juvenile insult-throwing and ego shots.
I also hold out the hope that when I ask an intelligent question, I might get an intelligent answer.
But I agree with you that it's mostly a waste of time.

Not debating.
Just posting facts.
Rightwingers HATE that.

“It is not knowable how long that conflict would last, it could last, you know, six days, six weeks. I doubt six months.” Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, 2/7/03
“My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.” Cheney 3/16/03
“We know where (the weapons) are, they’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, north and south somewhat.” Rumsfeld, 3/30/03
“Major combat operations have ENDED.” President George W. Bush, 5/1/03
“We’re dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon.” Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz, 3/27/03

To earn more points!!!
I agree it's rather silly, but occasionally someone publishes an enlightened answer. Besides, I'm a teacher, and it's summer. I've got spare time.

Its just fun to watch the libs come unglued. And a bit scary to see the things they really believe in and the hatred they spew.

Mostly because it's fun and it's also good to see other people who are concerned about our political climate, even those who are on the opposite side of the fence. :)
