I'm installing an iron gate for my driveway. Well of course, it's about 2 inches too long (just iron strips I can cut).

Do I use a die grinder to cut through this?

It's about 1 inch by one inch square hollow iron.

It will work but be time consuming. I would suggest a 4" angle grinder with a cut-off wheel. Saw-zall with a metal blade will also work.

Might not turn out perfectly "strait" but it should work. You could hacksaw it, or use a air power cut off tool (small high speed disk grinder)...

Use a simple hacksaw or a sawzall on this.
