im confused. some people say you lose your virginity using tampons because you break this hy-something, but i didnt think so. is the only way to lose your virginity through sexual penetration?

it's called they hymen. many say that you lose your virginity once the hymen has been broken (which a tampon does do). But really it is up to you and what you think losing your virginity is. there is not a definition that everyone can agree on. it's one of those questions that may never have an answer. websters dictionary defines virgin/virginity as follows:
"a young woman who has never had sexual intercourse; chaste modest; untouched, unused, pure, etc"

The only way to lose your virginity is to have sex. It's true that using tampons will likely break or at least stretch your hymen, but that can also happen from horseback riding, dancing, riding a bike, or countless other non-sexual activities. Unless you've had sex, you're a virgin.

whoever told u that u lose ur virginity by using a tampon is an idiot. the only way is by having sex...and u break the hymen. when u put a tampon in it doesnt go far enough to break it.

You lose your virginity by having an sexual intercourse..not by using a tampon..but a tampon might break the hyme but your still have your virginity.

you can break your hyman in a number of ways. for example in active sports like horse riding. normally, when you use a tampon, it passes through a gap in the hymen. and yes, you only lose your virginity through penetration.

You can only lose your virginity by having sex. If your hymen is broken is doesn't always mean that you have has sex beacuse you can break that by horse riding or like you said with tampons.

Tampons can break the hymen but no you definitely don't lose your virginity from them - not until penetration sexually!

You cna break your hyman doing physical exercise let alone insert a tampon so sexual penetration is not the only way

You are right.
Using a Tampon does not cause you to lose your virginity, only sex can do that.
You can break your Hymen by horse riding or riding a bike.
