Hi, i had my mother in laws tongue in this pot for over a year and it is not producing any pups? My mother has one like mine and it's been in that pot for half a year and hers is producing 5 offshoots i don't understand why it's not producing offsets? The mother in laws tongue that isn't producing pups is mature enough to produce some how come it's not?

I think it needs more light.
Mine produced flowers once.. but its all about where its placed and how much light and water its getting.
Just remember motherinlaws tongue thrives on neglect.. maybe your fussing too much with it?

Mother in laws tongue will produce pups and flowers when root bound. The white nondescript flowers have a heavenly scent that is often overlooked in descriptions of this tough ol' plant. So give it a tight pot and a lot of benign neglect. RScott

You can propagate this plant by cutting a leaf into 1-2 inch pieces and placing the cut ends into moist and sandy potting soil. It won't matter if there is a cut end exposed because the cut end will heal over. Place it in a sunny location and keep it moist and in a couple of months you should see a new plant emerge. Good luck
