Its not weird. Even when there was a draft the well off and the well connected did not go to war, unless they wanted too.
That's why the charges against Kerry always rang false. He could have gotten off, he choose to go. He had no way of knowing if he was going to come out alive. No one in that sort of war zone would. Neither Bush Two or Cheney went. One choose the National Guard, and back then it wasn't what it was today. And Cheney has famously said he had other things to do. Still, with five sons, you would think one of them would have chosen to serve his country given how easy it would have been for one of them to go to West Point or Annapolis. I don't think any of the well heeled would be entering as a buck private.
The reason it seems hypocritical is that when a politician wants war, he is asking someones sons to die. And Mitts healthy sons are all nice looking conservative men who do support their father. Just not with THEIR lives.

i don't sense he has any explaining to do. His sons are there very own persons, they have their very own minds and make their very own judgements. the protection stress is all volunteer, there is not any longer a draft. So it particularly is in contrast to they have been meant to serve and did no longer. you could nevertheless make the comparable argument approximately applicants who've sons interior the protection stress who've in no way served in Afghanistan or Irag. How did they take care of that. Your insinuation is guilt by ability of relation. i could be extra disenchanted if a candidate intentionally made their little ones examine in for the protection stress to benefit votes. What approximately Hilliary who voted for the statement of action, wheres her Daughter. no longer interior the protection stress. If Hilliary and her fellow Democrats did no longer help the statement of action in congress there could be no conflict. Is she a expert conflict candidate. there is sufficient blame to flow around. to no longer point out Hillary and her fellow Democrats had of challenge to give up the conflict. they did no longer have the integrity to diminish the handbag string that's with of their constitutional authority. as a replace they talk and bring no action. Romney a minimum of does what he have faith no rely the outcomes to his marketing campaign. i will no think of of no Democrat hypocrite candidate that could say the comparable. Romney believes it particularly is larger to combat over their, then right here interior the US. the US could desire to shop it could provide to it allies besides because it commitments. I choose the comparable could desire to be pronounced for Democrats. Democrats basically have faith what the political polls tell them too. Republicans do what they have faith irreguardless of the actual or political ramifications to themselves. further, Romney isn't a expert-conflict candate. Romney in basic terms believes you may desire to finnish what you start up off, shop your can provide on your allies. Peace!!! Love!!! wellness!!! information!!!

If your dad supported the war would it make him a hypocrite if your aren't fighting in Iraq? Maybe his sons don't agree with the war, regardless, Romney is not to blame for his sons going or not going to Iraq, whatever his opinion of the war is.

The last I knew, military service was voluntary. If YOUR sons wanted to join the military would you stop them? Do you realize that if 2% of the population joined the military, there would be over 5 million in the service? What difference does it make that none of his sons are in the military?I was in the military and I support the war and my son isn't in the military. Does that make me a hypocrite? or my son? Since you are against the war, if your children were to join the service, does that make you a hypocrite?

Why do people propose that if someone that is in a position of power supports the war they should be required to volunteer their children to serve in it? Let me explain something to you: military service is voluntary. Each individual chooses whether or not they join. Why don't you ask Romney's sons why they aren't in Iraq? I'm sure they will tell you they are working somewhere else.
You people want to see these people's children serve because you want to see them die and that's disgusting.

There is no draft, and it is very easy to support military action when you have nothing at stake. Mitt Romney undoubtedly loves his sons and would do all he could to keep them from service. Oh, I forgot, working for his campaign is like serving America. I am sure there are some Reservists that would take that deal about now.

Not at all.
This country has over 300 million people and only about 1.2 million in the military at any one time. Over all, only about 3% of this country serves at all today. So if he had 100 sons, you would really only expect 3 to be serving of have served. So why expect 1 family to serve when 95% of this country isn't engaged in the war?

Why is that weird?
Libs are clueless as to how the military works, and the tired old worn out drone of "why arent their kids in the military?" is really tiresome. Cant you people come up with anything fresh at all?

The democrats are not warmongers so it is acceptable if they don't have a military background but it's total hypocrisy for those who do advocate war to not have served or none of their offspring. If his sons are campaigning for him then they do support the war and should enlist at their age. Hypocrisy, hypocrisy, hypocrisy.
