Come one..... most of the questions and answers are nothing short of a witch hunt. And what purpose does this serve pray tell me?

2007-08-13 07:55:27 · update #1

Some are acting like the Klu Klux Clan and would burn the McCanns given the chance.....mob rule. Nothing to do with freedom of speech as most of it is just pure victimisation

Jo ann.... you have made a valid point and I agree with you but the purpose of my posting was to try and draw a line under this hate campaign that is raging.

Much as I hate some of the tripe that the nasty people have posted on here - you can't stop them.

We're all entitled to speak freely and although I know exactly where you're coming from there's no way I agree with stopping people discussing this. I do feel that it's such a sensitive issue that it would be good if we all just left it alone but where does that leave the bigger picture?

If the vicious bastards want to make completely vile comments then that's up to them. They're the ones who look like scum of the earth. We all have the right to debate and those of us who do it reasonably on both sides (or whatever your veiwpoint) shouldn't be stopped from doing so.

Afterall, if there are any arrests made in this case you wouldn't want the accused judged any other way than by a jury of the general public would you?

Sorry, but until the authorities do their job, people will discuss the Mccann's.
Yes some of the things posted go too far, but most people only want the truth about what really happened to Madeleine.
As for posts by a few vile idiots, i usually ignore them, or if really bad i report them.
The constantly changing stories from the Mccann's and their friends was bound to cause some suspicion, people will naturally speculate on that. The Mccann's should have told the truth from the start.

Yes! The questions are either completely presumptious , personal or accusatory. Nothing to do with facts or Madeleine. such a gang mentality has grown on this site that even if you say you are pro maddy you will get a thumbs down. It seems the crueler and more attacking the answer is the more support it gets. I am seriously worried about some of the folk on here... not those who have reasonable different opionions or for example are angry about the unattended children - but those who hide behind the anti mccann logo to just come on here and post ridiculous questions that are bordering on sick. And answering with the same twisted rants.

Sorry - that was a long answer. But it makes my blood boil that - while most decent people on here, despite our feelings for the parents, want maddy to be returned safe and well but there are some who use this tradegy as a way to offload their sick minds.

well to be honest yahoo won't block it for the simple reason it generates a great deal of activity here. and to be honest if they don't block and remove an individual who posts obscene pornographic images involving animals...despite the fact that there are kids on line here.....they certainly won't intervene in the mccann situation. the whole system needs more effective screening.

I am afraid I believe in freedom of speech I'll fight for your right to say it even if I don't agree!
(I don't agree with them leaving her - my opinion for what it is worth. I hope that she is found safe and welll soon)
I do think some of the question are out of order - statements such as "they did it" etc., but I have a choice not to read them as we all do.

I don't mind questions about different subjects but this has been questioned to death!! It's like a mob mentality !! To the people who posted those questions no offence but every other question has been about the parents not the sweet little girl!!

No they shouldn't block them it would be pointless, I just wish people would remember that we are talking about real people here, it isn't a TV murder mystery.

Leaving children on their own is negligent but some people have jumped from that to murder so easily. People talk about the fact that there are inconsistencies in the timing of certain events but don't discuss how the McCanns managed to get through dinner without seemingly arousing suspicion if they murdered her. There is nothing in their past to suggest they could do this, so some people say the UK papers are covering things up, if that is free speech we don't need it.

For goodness sake, this is NOT a hate campaign!
The problem is the number of lies told by the Mccann's and their friends, it means that nothing they say can be believed. Lie about one thing? Lie about everything?
There are indeed a few idiots on here posting offensive rubbish, the vast majority however simply want justice for Madeleine - we want the truth about May 3rd.

Its an open forum so if you want to post questions by all means do so just like the people who have posed questions about the Mcanns or would you prefer people to pose questions you like.If so then tell them what you would like to talk about.
