The earliest memory I have related to radio would be the song 'Wabash Cannonball' by Roy Acuff.
My first rock and roll radio memories were definitely, 'Bird Dog' by the Everly Brothers, 'Charlie Brown' by 'The Coasters, and 'Barbera Anne' by the Regents!
I remember running around the house singing "Ba Ba Ba Ba Baberan... a Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba a Baaberan, take my hand..."
Even in school my friends and I would try out our best imitation of the song in math class. Mrs. Parker did not find this amusing. She dragged me(by my ear) and my desk out into the hall more than once. The acoustics were fantastic in that hallway if I remember correctly!
I loved radio in the late 50's early 60's! A lot of memories for sure!
Once I got my hands on a transistor radio, well school was even more fun...until Mrs. Parker confiscated it and locked it in her desk for a week!

First song? On the radio? EVER? O_O

Geeeez....

Ok. "Disco Duck." ^_^ What? I was a little kid back in the early 1970s, and I found cute disco tunes on the radio a lot more fun and a *LOT* less disturbing than H.R. Puffenstuff and his buddies (including a talking flute that was articulated like a damn Pez dispenser). I think I was maybe eight, nine years old at the time, maybe ten at the most....

Nah, I was ten, it was 1976. My folks had just been divorced and yet for some messed-up reason my mother still stuck with my father and her ex-husband long enough for him to start some training, at a gunsmith's school, that was paid for by the Veteran's Administration. Weird times, but then again my family was weird too....

So yeah....now you know. ^_^ Thanks for your time!

The one that really sticks in my brain is American Pie by Don McLean. Whenever my clock radio would come on to wake me up, that would usually be what the DJ was playing at 6 in the morning. That was like a theme song for my high school years.

(yes, I went to high school in the '70s.)

The first song Ever to get my attention was Dr. Hook, "When You're In love With A Beautiful Woman"...(it's the first one I ever remember hearing).
The first song to get my attention today was "Give Me The Beat Boys and Free My Soul"...I wanna get lost in your rock and roll, and drift away.

The first band that got my attention was Hootie and the Blowfish. Before them I just listened to whatever my older sisters did. They were the first band I really liked because I thought they were cool.

Well, if you mean ever, I couldn't tell you... But lately? Sum 41's "Underclass Hero". I LOVE that song and I can't get it out of my head so now everytime I hear it it's the first thing I hear... Even if I'm in another room or listening to my iPod... It's kind of crazy.
