Why not gold or white or blue?
How bout violet or Orange?
I only have one tie and it's silver/gray
and it's a clip-on cuz I cannot tie a tie.

They wear red ties because those are their powerties.
Red also looks good with dark blue jackets and light blue shirts.
Presidential hopefuls want to get elected so they wear red ties to show patriotism and that they are powerful.
I don't see Hillary wearing one. lol.

red is known as a power color. I remember once watching an oprah show and they were talking about red, which she said is a "notice me" color and she did a scan of the audience and there were a bunch of people wearing red and she jokingly said "see these people all want to be on tv".
you will also see most tv anchors wear red as well.
It is visible.

Red means power, energy, determination, strenght and passion. Also if you're talking US... Red, white and blue.
