I look forward to death! Not that I'm unhappy with life or suicidal; I'm a happy old man, satisfied with what I have accomplished and anticipating accomplishing more. It is just that death seems to me to be as natural a part of life as breathing and I think I experience a little of it every day.
When you abandon yourself to the bed at night and naturally lapse into unconsciousness you are truly "dead to the world" You do not even have the power to bring yourself back to conscious life but depend on someone or something (like an alarm clock or your internal circadian clock) to revive you. And it so happens that you do come back from the dead every morning. For that reason I anticipate death at the end of life to be a wonderful natural experience like awakening every morning has mostly been.
Hope you look eagerly forward to awakening after the last night of your life, good health, peace and love!

put simply, the only thing to look forward to in life is.......life
it spins you around knocks you down picks you up hands you a flower and tears it apart!
a roller coaster wouldn't be much fun if it was a straight line would it?
once you fully accept that YOU are responsible for everything in your life, you can change how everthing affects you, life gives you a million questions with no aswer, it has moments of unlimited possibilties and can be cut short any second, you never know what's gonna happen next!
if you don't think that life is something to look forward to, you must be facing backwards!

You have your bright future to look forward to. So the question comes up... how can I brighten up my future? This is where genuine religion and purposeful theology come together.
Your future comes from your good choices and good choices come from how bright you are on the inside.
A great online resource on how to brighten up... check out the last half of Ch 3 to see if this is a good book for you. The deeper stuff on how to brighten up can be found in Chs 21 and 22. http://gospelenigma.com
And I hope this is a help.

It depends on whether you believe that causes produce effects.
If you don't, there are plenty of fun palaces out there.
If you do, combine the fun with conscientious awareness that your environment is inseparable from you.
To make meaningful causes that lead to happiness, based on that awareness, seek to improve your health and wisdom so that they will be integral with your consciousness.

I hope you don't think I'm being flip, b/c I'm not. Serious answer: the meaning in my life comes from the search for meaning in my life.
It's one of those Zen things like "the destination is in the journey."
I notice that the harder I search for real meaning, the more meaning comes into my search.

Life is that to which we can look backward, and appreciate the stumbling stones enough to look forward and watch where we step.

Don't look forward. Stay in the present and enjoy it. Then to look back and see how far we've come.
