I'm tired of hearing these people say the Dems were misled about going to war. They had the same intelligence that President Bush had and came to the same decision he did. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

So, if I may play devil's advocate for a moment, let's say they were misled, just for sh!ts and giggles. With all of the Dems and Libs saying President Bush is so stupid and so ignorant and so unintelligent, would you really want to elect someone to the office of President of the United States that can be misled by such an intellectually inferior person? Wouldn't that make him smarter than all of congress?

Do you see the conundrum here?

It's funny how I can't find Deidre K.'s quote on any scholarly media outlet, only blogs......

I guess what it is proving is that they don't have the intelligence to run government so its time to put the Republicans back in charge of the Congress and also return a Republican to the White House.

Harping "We were deceived!" is just an excuse to get votes now that the public sentiment has turned against the Iraqi occupation. When patriotic fervor gripped the collective, feeble-minded public, most Democrats were all too willing to hop on the bandwagon in order to avoid being labelled "anti-American traitors" after Bush's "with us or against us" speech. You can't really blame them for retracting, as it has now paid political dividends.

You do not invade or occupy a sovereign country. That alone is bad foreign policy. I too knew from the beginning that this invasion/occupation was going to tear our country apart. And loudly spoke and rallied against it.
As far as your so called conundrum. Were you in chambers and back rooms when these decisions were made? Do you recall Bush's threats? Either your with us or against us. I don't think it was a matter of intelligence. But a matter of courage.

Well said!

You get a star.

What's more, the poster " patriotwww" says there's no honor among thieves and he should know. Democrat politicians are thieves. Don't forget the $28,000 in furniture the Clintons stole from the White House.

I was always against this war from the very beginning. It didn't make sense to invade iraq when the terrorists were Saudis and their base of operations was in Afghanistan...
