Cuz everyone is in a RUSH to get to where they want to go. It used to be about an hour or so during certain hours of the day, now it's more like RUSH ALL THE TIME, instead.

Usually (Well here in Washington DC) it's between 7am -9am in the mornings and 4pm-6:30pm in the evenings and it's because everyone is either going to work or coming home and most start and get off work around the same time so mostly everyone is driving at this time causing traffic congestion, and everyone is rushing to get to work... "RUsh Hour"

Rush hour has the highest traffic of the day , at least thats why it`s called rush hour.

Because everyone's trying to get home at once. It's more the intent of rushing than actually rushing.

Becuase everyone is rushing to get home and leave their horrible jobs at the same time everyday.

because of the fact throughout that element, all human beings is rushing to their paintings or college places, and quickly site visitors builds up because of the fact of too many vehicles on a undeniable street, or a automobile accident happens and the site visitors slows down.

Because everyone rushed out to get home, thus creating bottlenecks everywhere you turn. It's ironic, I know. So is parkway and driveway (you park in the driveway and drive in the parkway).
