Labor Gear
•Folder for all the paper work you get.
•Your birth plan (several copies, so all staff, on all shifts, can get one)
•Massage oils or lotions
•Your favorite pillow
•If you have long hair, a clip or scrunchie to keep it out of your face
•Sugarless candies or lollipops to keep your mouth moist
•A tennis ball or plastic rolling pin — both make excellent backrub tools — or an actual massager
•Snacks for during labor (your own snacks will be limited, and must be approved by your practitioner; your partner should pack sandwiches and nutritious nibbles so he doesn't have to leave your side to find something to eat)
•Diversions for a long labor: music, puzzles, magazines, books, a deck of cards, laptop, handheld electronic games
•Any mementos you'll want with you, such as family photos
Your Who to Call list, and a prepaid phone card or calling card (be forewarned: Most hospitals don't allow cell phones)
•Camera and/or video camera — even if you don't want to capture your labor and delivery experience, you'll definitely want to capture your baby on film, and someone in the room will be happy to take your first family portrait
Personal Items
•A baby care book (the staff teach you how to care for baby though)
•A baby book for recording everything (ditto)
•Toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash
•Hairbrush and comb
•All your essential toiletry items (don't forget moisturizer)
•Extra absorbent maxi-pads (the hospital will provide some, but you might want to use the brand you're most comfortable with)
•Snacks for after delivery — don't count on the hospital or birthing center to provide them in the middle of the night
•Champagne or sparkling cider to celebrate with
•Shower gel, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, makeup, and whatever else it takes to make you feel human again after delivery.
Clothes
•Extra pairs of underwear suitable for wearing with maxi-pads (no thongs, in other words) and a nursing bra
•Nightgown or pj's, socks, and slippers
•Comfortable outfit to head home in (remember you'll still look six months pregnant, so plan accordingly)
•Going-home outfit for baby (don't forget socks or booties, scratch mittens and a receiving blanket, plus extra layers if it's cold). Bring along a few diapers, although the hospital will probably provide them. You might also want to bring your own sensitive baby wipes, hospitals typically use wet gauze.
Other Essentials
•Rear-facing infant car seat. This won't go in the suitcase with you, of course, but when it comes time to take your newborn home, your partner should know how to find it quickly and install it correctly. Better still, install it in advance so you're ready to roll (after you're both checked out by the hospital staff).
I hope this helps! Good Luck on your big day!

The hospital will provide all the necessities for you and your baby. I brought my own pillow (both for comfort and I just love my pillow, but take it in a colored case not white so they don't take it accidentally). I brought my own personal hygiene things as it's just nice to have my stuff (I had a C-Section and was allowed to shower after they took off all my tubes). I also brought some cards and other possible boredom busters, but between the company, the TV and the new baby, that wasn't necessary. I did send my husband home for our Boppy for easier breastfeeding. So the list that I used while there was basically:
Personal Hygiene things (toothbrush, shampoo, etc)
Comfy Nightie for me
Pillow for me
Boppy
Take home clothes for me and Baby
I did not take any clothes for the baby other than the take home outfit, they are swaddled pretty much the whole time at our hospital so why create more laundry when they have the hospital issue t-shirt that was fine.
Good luck!

I have listed a link below that has a print out of stuff to bring to the hospital. I used it to give me a sort of check list of stuff that I needed. You can bring diapers, wipes, but most of the stuff for the baby they will give you in the hospital even formula, and trust me for what they charge you will want to take all of the free stuff you can get LOL. One thing you can't forget is the car seat they shouldn't let you leave without it. Good Luck, hope everything goes well and a healthy baby is born!!

Bring comfy clothes for you. Bring an outfit to bring the baby home in, and a blanket.
They will provide you with formula and diapers while youre there. They will also provide clothes and a blanket while youre still there.
Dont forget, in most states, the hospital wont allow you to bring your baby home with you unless you have a car seat.

comfortable clothes for you, something for baby to go home in, (the obvious ones). I wish I had waterproof slippers as my hospital's shower was gross and I wish I brought my own pillow. I stayed two nights and that ridiculously thin pillow was awful. A camera. List of phone numbers. I was glad to have my robe. The toothbrush the hospital supplied wasn't great, so I'd bring toilettries from home. They supply everything for the baby other than clothes. It's nice to already own a nursing bra. I had my little one early, so I didn't have any yet. Food for your partner might be a good idea, so they don't have to leave to get it, but it's not necessary. My husband only had about a quarter of a sandwich all day until about 6pm.

you dont need diapers, they provide them or the time you're there and you can take home the pack or packs they give you. bring outfit and blankets for baby ( they provide that too but you'll need it for the way home). hair brush, toothpaste and brush, comfy socks, your glasses if you wear them. a book to read (maybe) shampoo and conditioner! good lucka dn congrats. if you're breastfeeding then you might want to buy some lansinoh cream which is made from lanolin to hlep with possible tender nipples. a bra that has a lot of support as well for when your milk comes in. my sons outfit i took hi home is was way too big so i would bring different sizes, my son had to wear preemie clothes for a couple of weeks.a the hospital i wa in you could use cell phones but you may not be ablet o so a calling card may be a good idea

The hospital usually provides stuff like diapers and things. If you want a specific brand of anything I'd bring that. And make sure you take home what you don't use because your paying for all of it anyways!!! And a take me home outfit for baby, comfy clothes for you (still maternity) sanitary pads for you, CARSEAT, camera, $ for food for you and daddy, maybe some pillows you like, a blanket or something like that depending on the season, toothbrush, hairbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, a nightgown if you don't want to wear the hospital gown, if you want your baby to have a pacifier, I'd bring the one you want the baby to use because if they give the baby a hospital one and they get used to that one as soon as it's time to throw it out you can't get anymore like it!

They will supply you with diapers and formula. Bring an outfit that you would like to bring your baby home in. Other than that, just the things that you will need. Oh, and I also brought a pair of socks for the baby.

All you need to bring is the infant car seat and some comfy clothes for you and baby. Keep in mind that you probably wont be back to your pre-pregnancy weight, so maternity clothes are a good option. You should bring a birthing plan if you have one, a list of phone #'s so you can call people when baby comes (charger for your cell phone or calling card for long distance calls), toothbrush, deoderant, etc. for you and dad. And don't forget your camera!! Good luck and congrats on your new bundle of joy!!
