suffer with E. D.?
For those who don't know it is erectile disfunction.
I'm curious as to the cause...It didn't seem to be a problem back in the old days.

Actually I'd have to go with all the chemicals they're putting into food/drinks, plastics, and other things we're exposed to on a daily basis these days and it's affecting the testosterone levels of men causing a rise (no pun intended) in a man's estrogen levels thus causing ED. And there have been articles and studies on this happening to back what I say up, but I'm not going to list a bunch of links ...you all can go do your own research.

I think ED was probably just as prevalent then as it is now however back then, people would NEVER talk about somthing so personal. Now you can talk about whatever you want and noone will think twice, well maybe twice but noone will think a THIRD time, lol. I mean seriously, 50 years ago you couldn't even cuss on TV, now you have shows like South Park using the **** over 100 times in a single episode!

Also, if it is more prevalent, it may be due to the lifestyle choices people are making. They say smoking, improper diet, lack of excerices, high blood pressure, and a host of other things can lead to ED. Which I believe current trends which point to Americans becoming fat, cranky, smoking alchoholics may explain why ED is around more.

Please know that the physical and emotional causes of ED have been around for thousands of years. Nobody much talked about sex, let alone "limp sex" back in the old days. When there was no mediation and almost no hope of "getting over it" why bring it up (litterally)?

Blood flow is reduced due to build-up of plaque in your arteries and therefore maintaining an erection is not as likely to happen. "Suffer" is a pretty strong word to describe it, because, personally, I think the real suffering is when you cand "get it up" and there is nobody to use it with!

Pills work, although in the "old days" men blamed their crappy marriage and therefore often tried it out with a girlfriend. Then when that didn't work, they knew they had a real problem.

In the old days, there were not 18 million American men who had this problem It comes with age; it comes from using drugs; it comes from psychological problems which were not recognized as a cause; there are more STD's now there was then, and we now have drugs like Viagra etc. to help correct the problem.

Ha ha! That's pretty funny. Oh, I guarantee you it WAS a problem in the old days... in fact, a bigger problem than it is now. The difference today is that people will admit it and actually DO something about it, rather than letting their sex lives wither away to nothing. In the old days, men kept it to themselves. Millions of them suffered from it, but none of them ever did anything about it.

As far as the causes... they differ from person to person. It could be a biological problem, a disease, diet-related, weight-related, or just a part of getting older. It depends on the person and the circumstances.

I would say this, along with a lot of other medical problems, I don't know that its more common now, I think just because of all of the new drugs being developed, and the drug companies commercials, news and TV exposure, I think just more people are aware of these things. I had pre-cancer cells removed a few years ago and have heard of so many other women with the same problem since, in this case I don't think its more common, I think there are just better more accurate tests now.

First, there probably was a problem back in the "old days" but people didn't talk so openly about sexual problems.

As for why a man suffers from ED, it could be age related, or stress, or physical ailments (we don't take as good care of ourselves as we used to), or alcohol/drug abuse, or reactions to medications (we rely far too much on pills these days), etc....

I would blame two things: diet and society.
The modern diet causes high blood pressure, which in turn causes stroke, heart attacks, diabetes, and E.D.
Society has determined that men should be able to perform when demanded, but men's bodies are not built that way. Even in monagamous marriage, men are better able to "perform" mid-mornings, but society and wives think it is supposed to be done under cover of darkness.

A globalist agenda to slow down population numbers, by means of tainting the food supply with chemicals that the FDA turns a blind eye to.
