My son used to take rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball and rub the CD's really hard, he got rid of almost all the scratches this way or whatever the problems were, they worked afterward.

A cheap remedy is car wax.
Apply car wax to the disc but from the center out (do not wipe in the direction of the disc flow). Once dry, buff wax off the same way.
If there are any scratches left the wax should fill them in.

Get it resurfaced. Pawn shops usually do this or have access to it. Costs about $3, less the more CDs you have done.

i rub peanut butter in the cracks and then wipe it off with toilet paper. you always want to wipe from the center of the cd to the outside, never in a circular motion.

put toothpaste on the surface. what it does is it is gritty and it fills in the cracks or you can go to game crazy or a family video and they will do it for you but they charge 2 dollars.
