I've been living in a crappy *** apartment for the last 7 years. It is far better than the last ones I've lived in, experiencing cockroach infestations, maggot infestations, termite infestations, bad housing, bad neighbors, etc. This one isn't too good either though: Flea infestations, horrible neighborhood, etc.

Ever since my mom died, we've gone down hill and we haven't been as clean as we used to, if you consider the condition of the apartment at first when we moved in as "Clean".

Well, now we have a house party of some kind of fly or moth laying maggots every now and then on our food shelf. I asked dad if we can all band together and clean the damned apartment. He hasn't gone around and helping yet. My brother isn't of help either. Plus, he doesn't want to move for one reason or another while me and my brother begged to move.

Now my question is this: How do I rid of the flies and maggots efficiently, cheaply, and quick? Moving is out of the question.

I had an infestation of flies today. I have no idea where they came from. I was away for a couple days and when I came back today, I had about 60 flies in my condo, most flying around my front windows.

I went to the store and bought a fogger. You have to leave for a couple hours, but it kills all the bugs. If you go that route, make sure you read the directions carefully.

i had this issue a couple of days ago and i had no food laying around just cleaned house the day before and couldnt figure out where they were coming from so i killed the ones i saw with the old fashioned method (my shoe)and then mopped the floors twice with bleach seems to work well havent seen one since also just looked it up on line have to let you know if this works but you can make a homemade fly trap cheaply get a two liter bottle cut one fourth of the way down and cut four slits in the top and put some string in there and vineger and fly bait you could use hamburger or ham for this or also use a mix of half sugar half water instead of vineger about an inch high then turn the cap upside down to fit in the top oh also with maggots just remembered vasiline also stops those icky little creatures in their tracks a tip my friend whos a vet tech they see those all the time which also reminds me if you have pets check them too infestations can happen within 24 hours pay close attention to any open woulnds on your pets and good luck let me know if this helps
