Good high power wifi will do this for you if you have no obstructions between the two points or if you can setup a couple of relays between them. You need to do a sight survey to find out what other wireless devices are running and then pick 2.4 or 5.8 gig (802.11b.g or 802.11a) use good BRIDGES with directional antennas and you should be able to cover 3000 feet.

There are many POINT to POINT systems that are designed for these situations.

I have used a couple of the point to point systems for 2 to 3 miles with 5 to 11 megs of throughput.

ok, so i'm many times a jerk on questions that are stupid, yet this could be a stable question!! i understand; holy crap. maximum people who're working cams like this do no longer choose a gaggle of cables and having an outlet next to each cable is a discomfort. there's a protocol talked approximately as ability Over Ethernet or PoE. this means that the ability to flow to the cam additionally is going over the community cable permitting you to have a single cable that handles the counsel and runs the cam. To make this artwork, you the two choose a expertise change this is able to run PoE (costly - interior the $8-16K selection) or you employ ability injectors that positioned the ability onto the cable. The PoE cams are the forged ones and could in many cases be a extra robust selection than externally powered cams. of direction, if that grow to be no longer the question.... confident you like a expertise cable to get each and every of the 0's and a million's that make up the attractive photos on your monitoring station. otherwise, they replenish the cam and spill onto the floor inflicting a slip and fall threat.

To get that type of range you will need an 802.11y type transceiver set. Good luck.
