Yes. He singled himself out by wearing a T-shirt with a possibly threatening message in the language used by most terrorists.

This is another attack to try and force this country to bend over backwards to accomodate people who have no intent to assimilate and become Americans, right in line with the imans frightening an entire plane full of crew and passengers, cashiers refusing to touch plastic-wrapped pork, and cab drivers demanding foot basins and discriminating against passengers who might be carrying alcohol or have pets with them.

JetBlue should've simply refunded his ticket and told him to take his business elsewhere. They were far too nice in giving him the option of putting on a different shirt.

We certainly have the right to express our opinions and even wear tee shirts with our opinions on them. But-how about a little common sense? . At our hospital we encourage our psychiatric patients to cut down on violence type tees or anything else that might cause a problem on the unit. Anyone who is flying in the United States after 9-11 should have the common sense to know that wearing anything that even suggests the terrorists is in bad taste. I know and you know that not every Arabic person took part in the terrorism, but why create a problem aboard a plane load of passengers?

The article got one thing wrong Racial Profiling is not ineffective...it works....look at Isreal...they profile and they havent had that crap happen....did you know that it is a rule that they can not search more than 3 arabic (Middle Easteners) per flight? That is dumb....but in America Racial profiling is illegal b/c it might offend someone...that person should have used better judgement then to wear that shirt to an airport......its called common sense!

Not only is this not productive for our security, as it more or less finds and "easy-way-out" by racially profiling customers, but it also is infringing upon our rights as American's to have the freedom of speech. I've seen articles of clothing that has more profane and vulgar innuendos and such which just seems absurd. I understand that the airport security wants to protect the safety of the country and their air planes, but at what cost? This might be helping in SOME situations, but there are many other alternatives that are more effective and less of a slap to our civil liberties. And as for the shirt being in Arabic; are we, as a country, going to be so worried about the fact that some known terrorists speak Arabic that we're going to doom the language and the religion of Islam? Hating a race, and everything involved, is not the thing to do. I've learned more about Arabic and Islam and the culture of the Middle East simply so I won't be ignorant as to how they live and their values and such. If we're going to fear something, we might as well know why and for what before we simply taboo it.

While I sympathize with the woman in question, I can't help but think that wearing a t-shirt printed in Arabic to an American airport is an astonishingly bad decision.

As a person in security I would indeed single him out and, find out what the meaning of the phrase was. Finding out it meant nothing critical I would leave him go on his way.

Isn't that what security is all about or, do you have another meaning for it?

I feel it is justifiable. Sorry, but in some cases racial profiling is necessary. you can look the other way, but come on, let's face it -- your terrorists aren't white college girls or grandmas; they're Arab males.

I don't know what to say...Sad, yes...I have no problem with certain people being singled out for the safety of many others.

yeah I think that's too discriminating myself. I think we should be more aware of all things around us not just the t-shirts that people wear.
