spend so much time yak yak yakin' about this, when nothing will come of it?
no one cares about these kind of issues until it effects those with money & fame, someone they can exploit and destroy. then we sit around and talk about how "oh, he is this, and oh, he is that!" shut up! what type of crap do u do that everyone should know about!?!

well the guy has never done anything wrong. so whatever we say, he will get a second chance. all the things good he has done (like charities or events) will outweigh these MINOR incidents.
vick is like the "jordan" of football/atlanta falcons. sure people will still watch, but who really gives a dam!
fighting dogs, typically pitbulls, is illegal becuz of the money involved, the people who participate are "not so popular" kind of people, and last and "leastly," the dogs get hurt. sports involve people/animals (people are animals too!) suffering and getting hurt all the time. ultimate fighting championship, x-games, stunt devil competitions, boxing, wrestling, hunting. the list goes on and on. the reason why those sports/competitions are legal is the associations that govern them, the revenue it generates for the economy, the participants are popular kind of people, and whatever else.

I'm not sure.
His job has absolutely nothing to do with the crime he his alledged of. This is just an example of what people of today perceive as justice (going after the athlete with $$$) and not ever coming to an actual resolution to the actual problem at hand.
No one can answer the million dollar ? ....What does the NFL and QB Vick have to do with what he is alledged of?
You had a star basketball player not too long ago go through an entire RAPE trial and an NFL linebacker go through an alledged murder case and neither lost their job.
Why is this case so special when those I just previously spoke of involved humans were involved in way more malicious trials than dog fighting.
Like i said, it's all about perception and what can be fed to mindless people to fall behind in this country when they are greater more pressing issues that we should all be protesting, complaining and argueing about.
Instead we wasting time talking and protesting a guy that already has $$$$ and will retire with $$$$ even if he never plays another day of his life.
Meanwhile dog fighting will continue....so america what did we resolve once again here? NOTHING.
To JungleKat: You obviously don't get my point. Your hatred for what he is accused of has nothing to do with his JOB and you still haven't answered the million dollar question have you?????
Didn't think so!
Ps. You obviously hate humans.

We care because Vick is a role model for many young people and if any of these accusations are true he is a despicable person. When people choose to put themselves into the public spotlight, their actions become exposed. I would have less of a problem if Vick had not accepted several lucrative contracts and sponsorships that thrust him even more into the public eye. On another note, even if Vick wasn't famous, people who have a conscience are appalled by the world of dogfighting. They don't care who participates, everyone should be punished for treating animals that way.

Because some of us CARE about the welfare of animals. Some of us are completely against animal cruelty. Some of us think he should be punished severely for what he has done. Some of us want to make sure that what he has done is NOT forgotten, and swept under the rug.
It's not about exploiting someone famous. I am glad that it was though, because it has educated many compassionate people about the evils of dogfighting, something many of us knew NOTHING about until this high profile case.
Nothing will come of it--ahhh my friend, go to www.topix.com and google Michael Vick. There are so many states now putting bills up for vote to make punishment for dogfighting and participation in dogfighting much more strict. Now when people see a dogfight in progress, they know it IS illegal, and will report it. An LA prosecutor has formed a special unit to battle dogfighting in that city. Yes, I would say something good has come of it.
And furthermore, just who are YOU to tell the rest of us what to discuss?? I don't think you are 'worthy' LOL--Just ignore the posts if you don't like them, but don't even attempt to tell the rest of us what to discuss. You are not qualified---
Edit:
What type of crap do I do that everyone should know about???
Certainly not murdering and torturing dogs---

We care because it effects Michael Vick's lucrative career in the NFL. He might as well be throwing away a great job as a pro athlete for something stupid (and downright horrible) that he may have allegedly done.

If you don't like it, don't read em.
And for the record,, Michael Vick is a monster and should be punished for what he has subjected so many helpless animals to endure.

I care because this man is cruel to animals and he needs to be stopped. I could care less about his career. Animals are defenseless against pigs like Vick. That's the issue.

He's is getting the short end of the stick. Had he gotten in trouble for crack possession, weapon's possession, raping a woman or his posse shooting somebody at a nightclub, we wouldn't have thought anything about as we have come to expect this behavior from some ghetto black athletes.
It's that simple.
