we are ttc baby #1 and I'm due for my period tomorrow. I am way too anxious to wait for a few days to see if my period comes or not. Is it okay to test in the afternoon or should I wait until the morning. I know that hcg levels are higher in the morning.

The reason people test using first morning urine isn't because the hcg is higher, it's because the urine is more concentrated. If you hold your urine for 4+ hours and don't drink anything during that time it would be fine to go ahead and test now. Good luck and let us know the results!

I really recommend waiting until your period is late. If you test today and your period comes tomorrow you will have wasted a HPT. And they can get pretty expensive. And when you do test, it is best to do it with the first mornings urine because there is the most HCG.

You can take pregnancy test any time during the day but with you taking it before your period is even late its best toget morning urine when it's the highest but if you have a double pack take one now and then one in the morning

i am due on Wednesday... hehe
i am trying so hard to not test early but it is KILLING me i am thinking about leaving work early to go home and test LOL its bad but i just can't seem to concentrate on work (and being addicted to Answers doesn't help either)
final verdict take it to night if its neg no big deal wait a few days if its positive well then ... YEAH!

You answered your own question. The pregnancy hormones are more concentrated with your first pee of the day, so it would be best to test at that time.
