I slid in during a baseball game and tore up my leg. The side of my calf was all scraped up and bleeding, but I wasn't in much pain. A couple days later it is very soar and starting to be soar and swell in the areas other than where it was scraped. I cleaned it and put Neosporin on it after the game. Is it infected? What should i do?

Well, thats normal. Slight swelling, bruising, and tenderness around a cut is normal. Swelling or bruising that develops slowly over 6 to 12 hours usually means a minor injury. If your symptoms improve with home treatment, do not involve a joint, and are not caused by infection, an evaluation by your health professional is probably not needed.

Injury to the skin may also break small blood vessels under the skin and cause more swelling and bruising than you would expect. Rapid swelling or bruising that begins immediately after a skin injury often means there is a large amount of bleeding or that damage to deeper tissues is present. When a lot of swelling or bruising occurs within 30 minutes of a skin injury, evaluation by a health professional is needed.

the swelling might be from the tissue being damaged. ice it down often and keep it clean.
treat it with the antibiotic. if it doesn't look and feel better in a few days just have your dr take a look at it.
you should be alright.
oh try tylenol rapid release for pain

If it's hot the touch, getting puss from the wound, and the skin around it is getting red then yep it's infected. Best get to the doctor to take care of it before it gets much worse.
