In my opinion "NO ONE!" I'd like to see the Canadian government come down on the US like a ton of bricks. This lady is not an American citizen and the US has no rights to deprive her of her money. She has done nothing wrong and nothing against the US at all. Some body has to put the "World Police" on administrative leave w/o pay!

It's not based just on where she lived, this was done when relations with Cuba were at their worst. Any accounts held by Cuban nationals were frozen, so hers was too. She could leave Cuba, come to the US, unfreeze the account, withdraw it and return. It's a lot of work for her now that she's 107, but she could have done it.

Back in the day the US told her she was supposed to leave and she REFUSED. Now everyone feels sorry for her. I don't.

She could have kept her money living in Miami or the Keys, but she CHOSE not to leave. Now she's in a pickle of her own doing. Don't power trip on her centegenarian status. She's wrong from years ago.

it is a shame. us should have normalized relations with cuba decades ago. vietnam now ships 20.7% of their exports to usa, and we were actually in a protracted war with them.

The Cuban government confiscated her properties and her husband's leather factory, assets valued at $4 million, and she was left only with "Villa Mary," a dilapidated mansion in need of repairs where she lives in virtual poverty.

If the US govt. release the rest of the money, who do you think is gonna get it?.
