the Chinese goverment, which has in some cases resulted in people being tortured and sentenced to 10 years in prison for criticising the chinese goverment?

It is good thatt they have access but that isn't really the point it is not about whether or not they have access but more about the fact that yahoo by doing this is assisting in the persecution of people on the basis of what they say and think. And Know it isn't bull the wife of a man sentanced to 10 years for criticising the Chinese government is suing yahoo in the US for its role in handing information to the Chinese authorities which lead to his imprisonment for criticising the goverment.

Yes I know, and I think its unethical.

But then, its all about money, honey. China would not allow Yahoo in there, and they'll lose business. I kind of think, if they had been there in the 30's and 40's, they would have happily sold Jews' locations to Hitler.

Shame shame!

EDIT- ANd IT was both yahoo and google, and they used flimsy excuses to justify their actions. Who really gives a damn about a man halfway across the world being tortured because he asked for his inalienable rights?

The Internet is world wide. The Chinese and everyone else can see what is going on in here. Everyone on here, everything you write is recorded on the Internet. You can find it everywhere. The Chinese don't need stuff from Yahoo, they get it from you anyway. Nothing on here is private......nothing!

the chinese government has total control over its citizens lives and just the fact they have access to yahoo is pretty amazing.
