Congratulations Ma! Fun isnt it? Mine just broke through with his second on the bottom. You will find the pain stuff goes up and down, good days and bad.
Don't forget to get a baby tooth cleaning solution, one of those finger tip thingies. I have found the best teether in the world is the pinkie knuckle with a bit of anbesol or orajel on it and just let him go to town.
Best of luck!

The pain of the one that has broke the skin should now be gone BUT... He is now most likely teething on his other ones and will still have pain from those. They will normally sprout up close tot he same time.
The 2nd bottom may come through in the next week or two, maybe a little longer and then the top one's it may be another month or two. Each baby is different, just keep him comfy!
Let him gum on a COLD teething ring, This will help the tooth to break through and the cold will comfort the pain.
You will also want to feed him some cold foods like chilled applesauce or peaches as the cold will sooth the pain.

Every child teeths at different times. If you feel something sharp on the bottom is sounds like it is just starting to break the surface. Some babies do really well with teething and others are very cranky, it just depends on the baby.
Typically the bottom 2 will come in first, then the top. But that isn't always the case. My brother got his top 2 teeth first.

I have 3 children and each one teeth differently. My son got his teeth two at a time and hardly had any teething pain except for the first 4 or so teeth. My next daughter started teething at about 2 months (which was oh so young - but this kid walked at 7 months and potty trained at 12 months - so she did everything early) and she suffered horribly, crying a lot and horrible diaper rash (her botton was literally raw for 4 months). My third child got her teeth one at a time about two weeks apart and had almost no teething pain, would chew on some things (I kept the teething rings in the refrigerator or a wet wash cloth from the freezer or a frozen bagel) and she did great. Good luck and God Bless.

Congratulations!!! When my son got his teeth in he was not that upset about it. I gave him things that were hard so he could chew on them and ambesol. I gave him those edible things that were like biscuits but they made a huge mess!!! I found. As far as pain, I would imagine that it is really just getting going; after all there are sharp objects coming thru the skin. I also think that it just depends on the child how many and how fast they will come. But seeing as how he has one now, mom I would be looking for him to start getting more real soon!!! Let the biting begin :0)

You never know, all kids are different. My girl showed no signs of her first two teeth last week. 5.5 months. Two bottom front teeth. 1/2 way out....yet now she's rubbing the back right gums with anything that she can get back there. Didn't bother her at first now they seem to be slightly irritating her.
A friend of mine her son started waking up at night when his teeth started coming in. But other than that didn't seem to have any symptoms of teething.

Its really hard to tell about when they will come in. My son got his four front teeth all with in days of each other. He never really fussed until his first molar was trying to break through at 12 months, so as for the pain I'd say if he hasn't really been fussy about the pain now he probably won't be too bad later. Hope this helps :)

my daughter cut her 1st set of teeth (bottom center) at 5 months, the first one broke thru, then the 2nd was a week later.
when she turned 9 months(2 weeks ago), she started cutting ALL FOUR top center teeth at the same time!
she drooled a lot and whinned......A LOT........I use Hylands tablets too.....sometimes if she's too fussy for my fingers in her mouth I just drop 3 or 4 in her 4 oz bottle before bed.
when her gums got REALLY red and swollen then I used Tylenol.
good luck!

Its exciting isn't it? Um with my son the crankiness and irritability got worse after the first 2 broke through (they came a day apart but its different for every baby). I had heard it should get better but I guess my son is just different. I think his top ones are coming in. They say the top ones should come within 4 weeks.

Once the tooth is through the gum its stops hurting (so they say...) Teething happens at different rates for different kids. But the next lower tooth should be showing up soon (yeah - more teething!)
