What makes a face memorable?

A person's expression when they aren't talking or thinking you're looking at them. That is what I always remember. It tells you what the person is really like. You see what they may have not otherwise shown you.

For me it's not looking at someone beautiful that makes a memory, it's looking at someone interesting that does it for me. Just the other day I was commenting on a guy who was crossing the street. He wasn't attractive by any means, but I wanted to photograph him just because of the character of his face. His laugh lines, his frown lines, the leathery look of his skin - those are the kind of things that make a face memorable for me.

i don't think there are any real characteristics for me to remember a face....i tend to rememver if someone is really really unfortuante looking or very very good looking....also if there is something abnormal on a person's face, i will remember their face more....like really big eyes, or a really long nose something like that....
