Wow, $1000! You must have been VERY good this year, LOL. I think if I was an 11-year-old boy (at least your avatar looks like you're a boy), I would ask for a gaming system like a Nintendo Wii or an Xbox 360 or PS3 or something like that. Then, maybe I'd ask for a really cool mountain bike. Finally, I'd see if I could get the rest in cash or maybe a gift card to some store I really like so I could spend it as I see fit. If you already have some of these things I mentioned, maybe a really nice 8GB iPod Nano would hit the spot. Also, not to be preachy, but just don't forget the true meaning of Christmas, and make sure you show whoever is responsible for these fabulous gifts every day how much you love and respect them. Have a good one, you lucky boy!!

You are allowed to spend $1,000? That's your budget? Is the money entirely for you or are you also supposed to buy gifts for others out of this money?
It does seem a bit early to be putting a list together. However, you can start putting down ideas about what you want. This will give you a chance to look up prices and see how expensive some things are. You may be able to scale down your list.
And, you may find things later on in the year that you would want to add to your list.

Spend $500 on a Wii and some games, then use the other $500 towards a savings bond. Once it matures, you'll have over a grand!
How about a new desktop computer?

An eleven year old can ask for many, many expensive things. It's a good thing you have that much money!
